More information about Norheimer Dellchen Riesling trocken - Jakob Schneider

The barrel-aged Norheimer Dellchen Riesling from the wine-growing region of the Nahe presents itself in the glass in bright light yellow. When swirling the wine glass, one can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, because it does not stand out on the glass walls watery or syrupy or liqueur-like. To the nose, this Jakob Schneider white wine shows all sorts of passion fruit, lemons and peaches. As if that weren't already impressive, minerality joins in due to the aging in large wooden barrels.

The Jakob Schneider Norheimer Dellchen Riesling presents itself to the wine drinker wonderfully dry. This white wine never shows itself coarse or meager, as one might expect from a wine top wine range. On the palate, the texture of this balanced white wine is wonderfully crisp and dense. With its lively fruit acidity, the Norheimer Dellchen Riesling is exceptionally fresh and lively on the palate. In the finish, this youthful white wine from the wine-growing region of the Nahe finally inspires with good length. Once again, hints of lemon and passion fruit appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the soils dominated by volcanic rock join in.

Vinification of the Norheimer Dellchen Riesling by Jakob Schneider

The basis for the balanced Norheimer Dellchen Riesling from the Nahe are grapes from the Riesling grape variety. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Nahe. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of volcanic rock. After harvesting, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Then fermentation takes place in large wood at controlled temperatures. After its end, the elegant Norheimer Dellchen Riesling is aged for several more months in oak barrels.

Food recommendation for the Norheimer Dellchen Riesling by Jakob Schneider

This German white wine is best enjoyed well chilled at 8 - 10°C. It is a perfect accompaniment to omelettes with salmon and fennel, cabbage roulades or pasta with sausage dumplings.
