The Jürgen Ellwanger Winterbacher Riesling is a first-class white wine. In this it offers a wonderfully brilliant, light yellow color. Poured into a white wine glass, this white wine from Germany shows wonderfully expressive aromas of orange blossom, apple, pear and cherry blossom, rounded off by black tea, garrigue and vanilla.
This white from Jürgen Ellwanger is the right wine for all those who like as little residual sugar in the wine as possible. At the same time, however, it never appears meager or brittle, as one would naturally expect from a wine in the upper price range. In the finish, this white wine from the wine-growing region of Württemberg finally inspires with beautiful length. Hints of apple and lime are again apparent.
Vinification of the Jürgen Ellwanger Winterbacher Riesling
This white wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, and that is Riesling. Only immaculate grapes were brought in for this exceptionally elegant varietal wine from Jürgen Ellwanger. When perfect physiological ripeness is assured, the grapes for Winterbacher Riesling are harvested exclusively by hand, without the aid of coarse and less selective full harvesters. After the hand harvest, the grapes quickly reach the press house. Here they are sorted and carefully ground. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The vinification is followed by a maturation for several months on the fine lees before the wine is finally drawn off.
