With its vital fruit acidity, the Carlot Barbera d'Alba is impressively fresh and lively on the palate. On the finish, this youthful red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of plum and rose.
Vinification of the Gian Piero Marrone Carlot Barbera d'Alba
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Barbera. Only first-class grapes were used for this exceptionally powerful single-varietal wine from Gian Piero Marrone. After harvesting, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. This is followed by fermentation in stainless steel tanks and small wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the Carlot Barbera d'Alba is allowed to harmonize further for a few months on the fine lees. Once the wine is finished, the Carlot Barbera d'Alba is carefully harmonized.
