More information about Funtani Barbera d'Alba Superiore DOC - Cordero di Montezemolo
Held at a slight angle, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the rims. If you give it a little air in the wine glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high density and fullness, which can be seen in strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. In the glass, this red wine from Cordero di Montezemolo offers aromas of blackberries, blueberries, black cherries, morello cherries and plums, complemented by cinnamon, black tea and oriental spices. The Cordero di Montezemolo Funtani Barbera d'Alba Superiore is pleasantly dry. This red wine is never coarse or austere, as you would expect from an iconic wine segment. Thanks to its balanced fruit acidity, the Funtani Barbera d'Alba Superiore flatters the palate with a soft feel without lacking any juicy liveliness. The finish of this mature red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, more precisely from the Langhe DOC, finally delights with a beautiful aftertaste.
Vinification of the Funtani Barbera d'Alba Superiore by Cordero di Montezemolo
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Barbera. Only first-class grapes were harvested for this wonderfully powerful single-varietal wine from Cordero di Montezemolo. The Funtani Barbera d'Alba Superiore is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After the harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
