More information about Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG - Meyer-Näkel
The Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG from the pen of Meyer-Näkel from the Ahr reveals a bright, light red color in the swirled glass. Swiveling the wine glass, one can perceive a perfect balance in this red wine, as it does not stand out watery or syrupy or liqueur-like on the walls of the glass. This single varietal German wine flatters the glass with wonderfully expressive notes of black cherries, lilies, plums and lavender. It is joined by hints of vanilla, gingerbread spice and oriental spices.
This dry red wine from Meyer-Näkel is for wine connoisseurs who like their wine dry. The Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG already comes very close to this, it was vinified with just 0.1 grams of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this balanced red wine is wonderfully dense. Due to the balanced fruit acidity, the Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG flatters with a pleasing palate feeling, without lacking juicy liveliness. In the finish, this red wine from the wine-growing region of the Ahr finally inspires with considerable length. Again, hints of rose and mulberry appear. In the aftertaste, mineral notes of the sandstone-dominated soils join in.
Vinification of the Meyer-Näkel Dernau Pfarrwingert Pinot Noir GG
The balanced Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG from Germany is a single-varietal wine made from the Spätburgunder grape variety. In the Ahr region, the vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on soils of sandstone. Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG is an Old World wine through and through, as this German wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underscores the success of Old World wines. The fact that the Spätburgunder grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a considerable influence on the development of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and even grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. At the time of optimal ripeness, the grapes for the Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG are harvested exclusively by hand without the help of coarse and less selective machines. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are selected and carefully broken up. Then fermentation takes place in small wood at controlled temperatures. After completion of fermentation, the Dernau Pfarrwingert Spätburgunder GG is aged for another 16 months in oak barrels. The aging in oak barrels is followed by extensive aging in the bottle, which makes this red wine even more complex.
