The IDDA Etna Rosso from the wine-growing region of Sicily is a dense ruby red in the glass. Held at a slight angle, the wine glass reveals a charming garnet-red hue at the edges. After the first swirl, this red wine reveals a high level of density and richness, which can be seen in the strong stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. The first nose of the IDDA Etna Rosso presents nuances of sour cherries. The fruity parts of the bouquet are joined by juniper berries and almonds.

Vinification of the Gaja Distribuzione IDDA Etna Rosso

The powerful IDDA Etna Rosso from Italy is a cuvée made from the Nerello Cappuccio and Nerello Mascalese grape varieties. After being harvested by hand, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
