More information about Spätburgunder Löss trocken - Stefan Meyer
This single varietal German wine presents wonderfully expressive notes of mulberries, blackberries, black currants and blueberries in the glass. These are joined by hints of lovage, Mediterranean herbs and oak.
On the palate, Stefan Meyer's Spätburgunder Löss starts wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. Some wines are dry on the label, others really are. This red wine belongs to the latter, as it was vinified with just 0.8 grams of residual sugar. Balanced and complex, this dense red wine presents itself on the palate. Due to the moderate fruit acidity, the Spätburgunder Löss flatters the palate with a velvety feel, without lacking juicy liveliness. The final of this youthful red wine from the wine-growing region of the Palatinate finally captivates with considerable reverberation. The finish is also accompanied by mineral hints of the soils dominated by loess.
Vinification of the Stefan Meyer Pinot Noir Loess
This red wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Pinot Noir. Only the best grapes were harvested for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Stefan Meyer. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in the Palatinate. The vines here dig their roots deep into soils of loess soil. After the harvest, the grapes reach the winery by the fastest route. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation follows in small wood and large wood at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Pinot Noir Löss is aged for 12 months in oak barrels.
Food recommendation for the Pinot Noir Löss by Stefan Meyer
