More information about Barbera d'Alba DOC - Borgogno
The Barbera d'Alba from Borgogno is an expressive, pure and elegant red wine from the Italian DOC Barbera d'Alba wine-growing region in Piedmont.
This wine comes into the glass with a bright cherry red color and purple reflections. The nose reveals expressive aromas of ripe plums and morello cherries - accompanied by dark berries and spicy nuances. On the palate, this Italian red wine is excellently structured with juicy fruit, a fine tannin structure and mineral freshness. A full-bodied wine with a classic, elegant style that concludes with a pleasantly long finish.
Vinification of the Barbera d'Alba from Borgogno
With the Barbera d'Alba from Giacomo Borgogno, Piedmont has a real trump card up its sleeve. The grapes come from its own vineyards in the municipalities of Liste and Crosia in the Barolo growing region
After the grapes are harvested, the must is fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days and then gently pressed. The wine is then divided up for ageing: 70% is matured in steel tanks for 10 months - 30% remains in large Slavonian oak barrels for 10 months. Once the maturation period is complete, this red wine is blended and remains in the Giacomo Borgogno wine cellar for a further 6 months in the bottle.
