If we explore the aromas further, the oak wood adds lovage, gingerbread spice and dark chocolate.
This red wine from Caparzo is just the thing for wine drinkers who like their wine dry. The Brunello di Montalcino comes very close to this, as it was produced with just 1 gram of residual sugar. The texture of this well-balanced red wine is wonderfully velvety and dense on the palate. The Brunello di Montalcino is wonderfully fresh and lively on the palate thanks to its concise fruit acidity. The finish of this very mature red wine from the Tuscany wine-growing region, more precisely from Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, ultimately delights with a remarkable aftertaste. The finish is also accompanied by mineral notes from the clay and sand-dominated soils.
Vinification of the Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino
This wine clearly focuses on one grape variety, namely Sangiovese. Only flawless grapes were brought in for this exceptionally balanced single-varietal wine from Caparzo. The grapes grow under optimal conditions in Tuscany. Here, the vines dig their roots deep into soils of clay and sand. Obviously, the Brunello di Montalcino is also determined by the climatic and stylistic factors of the Brunello di Montalcino DOCG. This Italian wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word and is extraordinarily impressive. After the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in large oak barrels at controlled temperatures. Vinification is followed by maturation for 48 months in large wooden barrels and small wooden barrels made from French and Slavonian oak. The ageing in the barrel is followed by considerable bottle ageing, which makes this red wine even more complex.
