More information about Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC - Il Pulcino
The elegant Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Il Pulcino comes into the glass with a bright ruby red color. With a little sideways position, the red wine glass reveals a charming garnet red tone at the edges. This Il Pulcino red wine presents the nose with all kinds of redcurrant. As if that wasn't already impressive, further aromas such as vanilla and black cherry are added thanks to the ageing in stainless steel.
The Il Pulcino Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is pleasantly dry for wine lovers. This red wine is never coarse or austere, but round and smooth. This dense red wine is balanced and multi-layered on the palate. On the finish, this mature wine from the Abruzzo wine-growing region impresses with its considerable length. There are again hints of redcurrant. Mineral notes from the clay and limestone-dominated soils are added to the finish.
Vinification of Il Pulcino Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
This balanced Montepulciano d'Abruzzo from Italy is a cuvée made from the Sangiovese and Montepulciano grape varieties. The vines that produce the grapes for this wine grow on clay and limestone soils in Abruzzo. After the grape harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. The fermentation is followed by maturation on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
Dining recommendations for Il Pulcino Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
