More information about Barolo Riserva DOCG - Bersano

In the glass, the Barolo Riserva from Bersano offers a dense ruby red color. If you tilt the glass slightly, you can see a transition of color towards garnet red at the edges of this barrel-aged wine. If you give it a little air in the glass by swirling it, this red wine reveals a high viscosity, which can be seen in clear stained glass windows at the edge of the glass. Poured into a red wine glass, this red wine from the Old World reveals wonderfully expressive aromas of violet, rose and blackberry, rounded off by further fruity nuances contributed by the barrel ageing.

On the palate, the Barolo Riserva from Bersano starts off wonderfully dry, grippy and aromatic. On the palate, this powerful red wine is characterized by an incredibly dense texture. The finish of this mature red wine from the Piedmont wine-growing region, or more precisely from Barolo DOCG, is ultimately delightful with a remarkable aftertaste.

Vinification of the Bersano Barolo Riserva

The basis for the powerful Barolo Riserva from Italy is grapes from the Nebbiolo grape variety. The Barolo Riserva is an Old World wine through and through, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. After harvesting, the grapes are transported to the press house as quickly as possible. Here they are sorted and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in small wooden vats at controlled temperatures. At the end of this process, the powerful Barolo Riserva is aged in French oak barriques for a further 8 months.

Dining recommendations for the Bersano Barolo Riserva

Ideally, drink this red wine from Italy at a temperature of 15 - 18°C to accompany leek tortillas, pumpkin casserole or duck breast with sugar snap peas.
