In the glass, the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner from Cantina Terlan reveals a bright golden yellow color. When swirling the glass, you can perceive a first-class balance in this white wine, as it is neither watery nor syrupy or liqueur-like on the glass walls. The Cantina Terlan Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner delights with its elegantly dry taste. It was bottled with exceptionally low residual sugar. This is a genuine quality wine that clearly stands out from simpler qualities and so, despite its dryness, this Italian naturally delights with the finest balance. Aroma does not necessarily require a lot of residual sugar. On the palate, the texture of this well-balanced white wine is wonderfully melting, creamy and dense. Thanks to the balanced fruit acidity, the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner flatters the palate with a pleasing sensation without lacking any juicy liveliness. The finish of this well-matured white wine from the Trentino-Alto Adige wine-growing region, more precisely from Alto Adige/Südtirol DOC, ultimately delights with a remarkable finish.
Vinification of the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner from Cantina Terlan
The basis for the well-balanced Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner from Trentino-Alto Adige are grapes from the Chardonnay grape variety. The Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner is an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, as this Italian wine exudes an extraordinary European charm that clearly underlines the success of wines from the Old World. The ripening of the grapes for this Chardonnay wine is influenced to a considerable extent by the climate of the growing region. In Trentino-Alto Adige, the grapes thrive in a rather cool climate, which is reflected in particularly long and even grapes and a rather moderate must weight. The grapes for the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, without the help of coarse and less selective grape harvesters. After the harvest, the grapes are quickly taken to the press house. Here they are selected and carefully crushed. Fermentation then takes place in stainless steel tanks and large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. At the end of fermentation, the Kreuth Chardonnay Alto Adige Terlaner can continue to harmonize on the fine lees for 10 months.
