The Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese from the Mosel wine-growing region reveals itself in the glass in a brilliantly shimmering light yellow. If you give it some air in the wine glass by swirling, this white wine is characterized by a fascinating lightness that makes it dance peppy in the glass. To the nose, this Egon Müller white wine shows all sorts of star fruit, vineyard peach, physalis, apricots and wild berry jam. As if that wasn't already impressive, garrigue, Mediterranean herbs and sun-warmed rocks join in due to the stainless steel aging.
The finale of this white wine from the wine-growing region of Mosel, more precisely from Wiltingen, finally convinces with beautiful reverberation.
Vinification of the Egon Müller Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese
The elegant Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese from Germany is a single-varietal wine, vinified from the Riesling grape variety. Obviously, Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese is also determined by more than just the Wiltingen soil. This German wine can be described as an Old World wine in the best sense of the word, and it presents itself in an extraordinarily impressive manner. The fact that the Riesling grapes thrive under the influence of a rather cool climate also has a very high influence on the ripening of the vintage. This manifests itself, among other things, in particularly long and uniform grapes and rather moderate alcohol content in the wine. After the grape harvest, the grapes are immediately taken to the winery. Here they are sorted and carefully broken up. Fermentation follows in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Fermentation is followed by aging on the fine lees for several months before the wine is finally bottled.
